  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1 pie crust – unbaked

  1. Peel and slice apples. Put into a large bowl and toss with sugars, cinnamon, and flour.
  2. Pour the apple mixture into the bottom pie crust.
  3. Cover the top of the pie with crust and crimp the edges of crust together.
  4. Wet hands with water and dampen top of the pie. Sprinkle with about 1 T of white sugar. Puncture top of pie with fork so pie will vent.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes and 450 degrees F, then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and continue baking for about 45 minutes more until crust is golden brown.
  6. It’s good to put a piece of aluminum foil or a cookie sheet under the pie in the oven to catch the overflows.
